Time Based Movement Based – Basic Movement Based – High Frequency
Description The device sends location updates according to the reporting schedule configured in MyGeotab. It will transmit its position at the specified intervals, whether the vehicle is moving or stopped. The device will update its location when movement is detected (trip start), and will upload in-trip location data at the end of the trip. The device will update its location when movement is detected (trip start), and will upload in-trip location data at the end of the trip.
Update Frequency Update frequency can be every 8, 12, 24 or 48 hours.
Timing of the first update can be set, and the device will then connect in based on the chosen update frequency.
During a trip, the device gathers location data every 30 minutes and stores this information for upload at the trip end.
Once the device detects that a trip has ended (asset is stationary for 1 hour or more), the device updates all stored data gathered from a trip.
For greater asset trip visibility, during a trip the device gathers location data every 15 minutes* and stores this information for upload at the trip end.
Once the device detects that a trip has ended (asset is stationary for 1 hour or more), the device updates all stored data gathered from a trip.
Update on Stop? Device updates based on ping frequency set in MyGeotab Device uploads trip data at trip end (when asset is stationary for at least 1 hour).
A device that remains stationary will refresh its position in MyGeotab once every seven days, using the end time of its most recent trip as the reference point.
Device uploads trip data at trip end (when asset is stationary for at least 1 hour).
When this setting is active, it places a heavy demand on the device’s battery. Because of that, it automatically shuts off after 72 hours.

*When High Frequency Update is turned on, the device will start using a 15-minute update interval (while in motion) after its next connection to MyGeotab. Important: Enabling this feature can significantly reduce battery life and may shorten the overall lifespan of your GO Anywhere device. Enabling this function significantly increases battery consumption. For this reason, the system turns it off automatically after a 72‑hour period.
